Russia will celebrate the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War on May 9. The main event of the day will traditionally be the military parade on Red Square in Moscow, which will be able to be seen by millions of viewers across the country, both on television and online. The Victory Day Parade on Red Square will begin on May 9 at 10:00 Moscow time. It usually lasts about two hours and includes several parts.: ceremonial formation, passage of foot crews, movement of military equipment and, under favorable weather conditions, an aviation unit.

The largest federal TV channels will show a live broadcast of the parade: Channel One, Rossiya 1 and Zvezda. In addition, it will be possible to follow the progress of the solemn procession on online platforms and news portals. The live broadcast will also be available on the Izvestia website.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, in 2026, a column of military equipment, as well as pupils of the Suvorov military, Nakhimov schools and cadet corps will not participate in the Victory Day Parade. This decision was made due to the current operational situation. At the same time, the aviation show will take place.

Access to the stands of Red Square is possible only by special invitations. They are awarded to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, their relatives, military personnel, official guests and representatives of government agencies.
