Over the past day, over 100% of the monthly precipitation rate has fallen in the Moscow region. This was announced on Tuesday, April 28, by Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center.

"110% of the monthly precipitation rate fell in the near Moscow region in a day! <...> The most precipitation was recorded in Dolgoprudny — 41 mm, which is 110% of the total April norm, in Pavlovsky Posad — 29 mm, Taldom — 32 mm, Dmitrov — 34 mm, Klin — 35 mm," he wrote. He's on his Telegram channel.

Super-indicators, as the meteorologist added, were identified in the capital itself. So, during the designated period, 21 mm of precipitation was recorded at the VDNKh reference weather station, which was 56% of the monthly norm, and at the same facilities located in Baltschug and Tushino, 15 mm and 23 mm (62% of the monthly norm), respectively.

Tishkovets clarified that another 6 to 7 mm of precipitation could fall in the designated areas in the near future, and also suggested that the ending month could waterlog the soil by more than 200%.

Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, reported on the same day that a total of 73% of the April precipitation rate had fallen in the capital over the past day, which became the city's daily record for this number. Another record, according to him, was set in Kolomna, where 21 mm of precipitation fell during this time, amounting to 58% of the norm.

Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, warned on April 27 that the peak of the snowfall that hit Moscow had already passed and predicted a likely warming to +8 degrees over the next few days.
