The first foal of Przhevalsky's horse was born in Khakassia

The first foal of Przhevalsky's horse was born at the Khakass Nature Reserve's reintroduction center, a male baby from the three—year-old mare Marilyn and the seven-year-old stallion Beni, who arrived from the Orenburg Region reserves in October 2025. This was announced on April 28 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment's Roszapovedcenter.

"The appearance of the Przewalski horse foal in the first year of the reintroduction center's operation is not only a joyful event, but also an important step towards preserving this rare species. We hope that this little resident will become a symbol of the revival and restoration of the Przhevalsky horse population in the wild," Viktor Nepomnyashchy, rector of the reserve, told TASS.
