On April 27, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi thanked Russia for its solidarity and support for diplomacy.

"I am glad to cooperate with Russia at the highest level at a time when the region is undergoing strong changes. <...> As our relations continue to develop, we are grateful for the solidarity and welcome Russia's support for diplomatic activities," he wrote on the social network X.

This publication appeared in connection with Arakchi's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Iran's state-run IRIB news agency reported that Araqchi positively assessed the results of the talks with the Russian president, during which the parties discussed in detail Tehran's confrontation with Israel and the United States. According to the diplomat, the conversation lasted more than an hour and a half and covered both bilateral relations and current regional issues.

During the talks with Araqchi, Putin noted that he had received a message from Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei. He asked Araqchi to convey his wishes of gratitude, well-being and all the best to the Iranian Supreme leader for the message to the Russian side. The Russian leader added that Russia, like Iran, intends to continue strategic relations between the two countries.
