The FNPR called the weather a possible reason for absence from the workplace
Sometimes adverse weather conditions may be the reason why an employee did not show up at work in person. Alexey Bezyukov, Chief Technical Labor Inspector of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR), told about this on April 28.
"In case of natural emergencies or natural disasters, when there is a real risk to an employee's life on the way to work, when an employee is physically unable to leave home, it is not worth risking your life on the way to work," he explained in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Examples of such weather conditions include heavy snowfall, fires, floods, and earthquakes. At the same time, according to Bezyukov, the employee must notify the employer in a timely manner and confirm the circumstances with official sources.
Ekaterina Stenyakina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, also called the blizzard and snow drifts a valid reason for not showing up for work on January 26. At the same time, a dangerous situation must be officially reported to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as meteorologists or road services.
