Russian citizens have the right to go to court to recover compensation for moral damage if they receive intrusive advertising without their consent. This was announced on April 28 by Daria Klimanova, Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law at the O. E. Kutafin University (MGUA).

According to the lawyer, sending advertising messages through telecommunication networks without the permission of a citizen violates his rights and contradicts the law prohibiting the use of personal data to promote goods and services through direct contacts through means of communication.

"In case of violation of this rule, a citizen can apply to the authorized body for the protection of the rights of personal data subjects or to the court and demand that the processing of his personal data be stopped, as well as file a claim with the court for compensation for moral damage in accordance with the Federal Law On Personal Data," Klimanova told TASS.

The lawyer also stressed that the operator responsible for such processing is responsible for violating the rules of personal data processing.

Lawyer Vyacheslav Rychkov said on April 25 that the cultivation of blue lotus, tricolor ipomoea, as well as some types of cacti and mushrooms can lead to imprisonment for up to eight years. The lawyer clarified that when growing in a size that does not reach large or especially large, administrative liability arises under Article 10.5.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. For this, citizens face a fine of 3 to 5 thousand rubles or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
