Researchers reported a record number of Russians working during the May holidays
About 14% of Russian residents will work during the May holidays, which is a record number of people working on these dates over the past five years. This became known on April 28 from the SuperJob study.
"The number of people working on holidays was 14%, which is four percentage points more than a year ago, and the highest figure in five years," according to a study conducted for RIA Novosti.
At the same time, according to the survey, there will be more men in the workplace than women (15% and 13%, respectively).
At the same time, almost half of the respondents intend to spend the May holidays at home, and one in six will go to the cottage or village. About 7% of the respondents intend to relax in nature. Only 2% of the respondents plan to go on a trip.
Lawyer Oleg Zernov announced on April 27 that employees who will work during the May holidays will receive increased pay, according to Article 153 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. He explained that in 2026, the Russian government has set days off from 1 to 3 May, as well as from 9 to 11 May. If an employee goes to work on these dates, the employer must pay for such work at a double rate.
