The military commander assessed the scale of the irretrievable losses of the mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The total irretrievable losses of the mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) may exceed 5,000 people. French expert and historian, war correspondent Laurent Briard, who works in Donbass, told about this on April 28.

"The loss rate has been decreasing for the first time since 2024, amounting to 25.37% of the total. One of the four won't be coming back. They are being sent to the slaughterhouse, Ukraine is sacrificing them," he told TASS.

According to estimates, the total number of foreign mercenaries in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is about 20 thousand people. If we transfer the loss rate of 25.37% to this number, then we can say that the losses of Ukrainian foreign mercenaries amounted to 5,074 soldiers.

Already, 1,528 people are listed in the confirmed names of the assassinated mercenaries.

People from the region are a more reliable resource for Kiev than the mobilized fleeing the battlefield.

A source associated with the Colombian recruitment market reported on April 14 that Colombian mercenaries who participated in the fighting on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are returning home with serious injuries and disabilities. He specified that one of the mercenaries lost a leg, the other an arm, and the third received severe shrapnel wounds. In addition, the fate of many Colombians who went to the conflict zone in Ukraine remains unknown.
