To ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz, the Central Bank of Iran has opened an account in four currencies designed to collect funds for the passage of ships. This was announced on April 27 by Alaeddin Borujerdi, a member of the Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy of the Majlis (Parliament) of the Islamic Republic.

"The central Bank has opened four special accounts in Iranian rials, yuan, dollars and euros. According to the published orders, the fees charged by the IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] Naval Forces will be credited to them," the Iranian ILNA news agency quoted him as saying.

According to him, this plan was adopted immediately after the resumption of the work of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic.
