On April 27, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) announced the detention of two employees of the Department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the Poltava region, including the head of the investigative department, who were caught accepting bribes.

"NABU and SAP (Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. — Ed.) exposed the head of the investigative department of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Poltava region and his subordinate in obtaining illegal benefits. According to the investigation, officials, through an intermediary, a lawyer, demanded 110 thousand hryvnias ($2.5 thousand) from the entrepreneur for concluding an agreement on pleading guilty and ending criminal prosecution of his company," the NABU Telegram channel said.

It is specified that the persons were detained red-handed while receiving the second part of a bribe in the amount of 55 thousand hryvnias (about $ 1,25 thousand).

On April 25, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that the commander of the 58th separate motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Ivan Shnyra, uses corrupt schemes in procurement for the needs of the unit through an affiliated commercial structure. It was clarified that the brigade's press service refused to comment on the charges on their merits.
