The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case after the arson of cars of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Chuvashia

A criminal case has been opened against an 18-year-old young man for setting fire to police cars in Chuvashia. This was announced on April 27 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

According to investigators, the young man was under the influence of unidentified persons who, through a messenger, convinced him that he was acting in the interests of law enforcement officers and supervised his actions.

"The suspect <...> entered the guarded parking lot of official vehicles of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Shumerlinsky". Using a flammable liquid, he set fire to four official police vehicles. The suspect was arrested at the scene of the crime," the Investigative Committee wrote on the Maks messenger.

In Chuvashia, on April 15, a 16-year-old girl was accused of setting fire to a police car on the instructions of Internet curators. According to investigators, in early April 2026, the accused, being under the influence of scammers from the Internet, who through the Telegram messenger convinced her that she was allegedly helping law enforcement agencies, entered the closed parking lot of official vehicles of one of the transport police units in Cheboksary.
