A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The North group of troops has established control over the Taratutino settlement in the Sumy region. As a result of the actions of Russian servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 165 militants, four vehicles, a RAK-SA-12 multiple rocket launcher combat vehicle and eight material depots.

In addition, the Zapad group of troops liberated the village of Ilyichovka in the DPR, defeated Ukrainian armed formations in the areas of the settlements of Kutkovka, Velikaya Shapkovka, Borovaya, Cherneshchyna, Kharkiv region, Krasny Liman, Tatyanovka, Prishib and Mayaki of the DPR. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 190 fighters.

"The units of the Center group of forces have improved their tactical situation. Formations of three mechanized, airmobile, airborne brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, an air defense brigade and four National Guard brigades were defeated in areas of settlements <...> of the Donetsk People's Republic, <...> of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to 280 soldiers," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated the production site of long-range drones, energy and port infrastructure facilities of Ukraine used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 143 districts.

In turn, air defense systems shot down two guided aerial bombs and 114 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 138,166 UAVs, 656 anti-aircraft missile systems, 29,061 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,711 multiple rocket launchers, 34,632 field artillery and mortars, 60,276 pieces of special vehicles.
