Toyota Motor sold almost 10.48 million vehicles in the fiscal year 2025, which ended on March 31. As follows from the company's report published on April 27, another sales record was set for the first time in two years.

Toyota Motor's global sales (including Lexus, Daihatsu and Hino brands) for fiscal year 2025 increased by 2% compared to the previous year, while global production increased by 2.2% to 9.89 million vehicles, with growth recorded for the first time in two years. Exports from Japan to the Middle East fell by almost half in March, falling by 46.4% from the previous year (to 17.1 thousand units) amid the conflict in the region.

In fiscal 2025, Toyota's overseas sales increased 2.7%, reaching a record high of 9 million units, while U.S. sales jumped 7.7% to 2.52 million vehicles. According to the Japanese Kyodo news agency, this was facilitated by high demand for the Corolla and Camry sedan, which are key models in North America. Sales in China fell 1.4% to 1.76 million units amid increased competition, while sales in Japan declined 2% to 1.47 million vehicles.

Global sales of the group's electrified vehicles (hybrids and electric cars) increased by 1.5% to 4.8 million units. Production abroad increased by 3.2% to 6.66 million units, while production in the United States increased by 11.4% to 1.39 million vehicles.

In China, Toyota's production increased by 1.5% to 1.57 million units, while in Japan it increased by 0.1% to 3.24 million vehicles. In March, global sales decreased by 7.3% to 897.9 thousand units, while global production increased by 2.1% to 902.2 thousand vehicles. Sales in the Middle East fell by 32.3% to 33.9 thousand vehicles, and in the United States by 8.5% to 211.6 thousand units, partly due to lower demand preceding the introduction of increased duties in the United States.

In the first quarter of 2026, 6914 new Toyota vehicles were registered in Russia. As noted on April 7, this is more than twice as much (+111%) as in the first quarter of last year, when the result was 3,283 new cars.
