On April 27, the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army in Moscow will host a screening of the play "Diary of a Writer", created by the finalists of the National Open Championship of Creative Competencies "ArtMasters" and the Vakhtangov Practicum Theater. The production based on the work of the same name by the famous Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky includes stories united by themes of guilt and childish innocence.

The play is directed by the artistic director of the Vakhtangov Practicum Theater, Asya Knyazeva. The sketch of the production was first presented as part of the team competitions of the ArtMasters Championship in 2022 at the site of the Tavrida art cluster. The play includes seven stories by Dostoevsky, from which the artists assemble either a "mirror" or a window pane reflecting the current reality.

During the production, the audience, along with the actors, will have to face reality, asking uncompromising questions. Among them: where does anger come from in a person? When does a child lie for the first time and how does it affect his fate? Is it better to err on the side of mercy or punishment? What is the danger of indifference?

The play "Diary of a Writer" is a participant in the World Youth Festival 2024 and the IV Spiritual and Educational festival "Dostoevsky Days in Optina Desert" 2025. The project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The ArtMasters Championship is the main competition for creative industry professionals in Russia, including in the field of backstage and digital art. Applications for the VII season of the project are currently being accepted. You can register on the official website of ArtMasters. The main theme of the VII season of the Championship is "The power of unity. The art that unites."

The competition includes two age categories: primary (18-35 years old) and "Juniors" (14-17 years old), with a total of 32 competencies available to participants. The competition will be held in three stages: qualifying, qualification and final. The winners will receive cash certificates, as well as internship, employment opportunities and the integration of work into real projects.
