Tesla car sales plummet in Russia
Sales of new Tesla cars in Russia have been declining rapidly for the third year in a row, Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, said in his Telegram channel.
According to him, in the first three months of 2026, only 36 new Tesla cars were registered in the Russian Federation. This is 35% less than in the first quarter of last year, when 55 new electric cars of the American brand were registered in the country.
As the analyst noted, the "flourishing" of the Tesla brand in the Russian market occurred in 2023, when 1,257 new Tesla cars were sold. In 2024, sales decreased by almost half and amounted to 685 units. Last year, registrations of new Teslas fell by another third, to 449 units. The brand is not officially represented on the Russian market.
As for the futuristic Tesla Cybertruck pickup truck, only three copies have been registered in Russia over the past three months. In total, since the summer of 2024, the total volume has amounted to 70 Cybertruck units.
Earlier, on April 24, the Russian company Russo-Balt, which earlier this year announced the development of an electric van, announced a new passenger car model. This is the Russo-Baltic C55 electric crossover. The model shown in the images resembles a redesigned Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup truck. They are similar both in silhouette and overall exterior styling with sharp edges of the body panels, as well as in head optics.
