Pskov fisherman to be punished for illegal fishing of walleye and pike

In the Pskov region, a local resident was detained in the Kuninsky municipal District for illegal extraction of aquatic biological resources. The man had previously been brought to criminal responsibility for such offenses.

According to the Pskov news feed, on April 25, a man was fishing in the waters of Lake Zhizhitskoye near the village of Kurovo. He used fishing nets to catch fish. He managed to get pike, perch, bream, walleye and roach. The exact amount of damage has not yet been determined.

The arrest was carried out by district police officers and representatives of fish protection. The nets, the boat, and the catch itself were seized from the poacher. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved.

Earlier it was reported that a suspect was detained in the Astrakhan region and 6.5 tons of sturgeon fish transported in a truck disguised as vegetables were seized. A criminal case has been initiated, and all participants in the illegal trafficking of aquatic biological resources are being identified.
