The weather forecaster warned of cold weather in Moscow until the end of April

Unstable and severe winter weather will continue in Moscow in the coming days. This was reported to Izvestia on April 27 by Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency.

According to the forecaster, strong wind gusts of up to 17-22 m/s are observed today, accompanied by precipitation in the form of snow and sleet. Windy weather with gusts up to 12-17 m/s is expected on Tuesday night, snow will fall in places, ice and snow will form on the roads. At the same time, the amount of precipitation will decrease at night, and the increase in snow cover will be from 1 to 3 cm.

"The daytime air temperature will remain low in the coming days, in the range of +2...+4 degrees. Cloudy weather with light precipitation will remain until the end of April, both at night and during the day. Precipitation will be mixed, with sleet and rain. Nighttime temperatures will range from -1 to +2 degrees, during the day — no higher than +5 degrees. The snow will gradually melt, but significant warming is not expected yet," the expert explained.

In addition, Pozdnyakova added that significant precipitation is not forecast on May 1 and 2, but the cool weather will continue. At night, the temperature will be 0...+2 degrees, in the afternoon on May 1 — about +7...+9 degrees, on May 2 — up to +10...+12 degrees. At the same time, the indicators will remain below the climatic norm by about 4-5 degrees.

Answering a question about a possible warming to +15 degrees on Sunday, May 3, the forecaster noted that such forecasts are still unstable. She clarified that the calculations are recalculated every 12 hours and may change. Nevertheless, according to preliminary information, May 3 May turn out to be the most comfortable day.

And snowfall hit the Urals, the Far East and the Volga region.

Earlier that day, the Hydrometeorological Center reported that an orange weather hazard level had been declared in Moscow and the Moscow Region due to heavy snow. It was noted that due to the snowfall, wet snow may stick to wires and trees, ice is expected in some places, as well as heavy wind gusts of 18-23 meters per second.
