Residents of the Southern Kuril Islands could feel the earthquake in Japan
Residents of the Southern Kuril Islands could feel the seismic event that occurred in northern Japan. This was announced on April 27 by the press service of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk seismic station.
"Magnitude: 5.7. The epicenter is 237 km southwest of the village of Golovnino. They could have felt 2-3 points in the Southern Kuril Islands," the press service quoted TASS as saying.
It is clarified that no tsunami threat has been announced.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 occurred on the Japanese island of Hokkaido on April 27. The seismic event was recorded at 05:23 local time (April 26, 23:23 Moscow time). The earthquake was located at a depth of about 79 km.
