North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said that the republic will continue to support Russia in its policy of protecting state sovereignty, territorial integrity and security. This was reported on April 26 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

"Kim Jong-un [the leader of the DPRK] noted that the government of the DPRK will continue to fully support the policy of the Russian Federation to protect state sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and interests. And he expressed confidence that the army and the people of Russia will surely win in a just and sacred struggle," RIA Novosti quoted KCNA as saying.

It is clarified that Kim Jong-un made such a statement during the visit of Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov to Pyongyang.

According to the agency, the DPRK leader also expressed gratitude to the Russian leadership for efforts to develop allied relations between the countries.

Belousov, during talks with the chairman of the state Affairs of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un, on April 26, said that the Ministries of Defense of Russia and the DPRK had agreed to transfer military cooperation to a long-term basis. According to Belousov, interstate relations between Moscow and Pyongyang are at an unprecedented high level.
