The Armed Forces of Ukraine (IEDs) are carrying out mass arson attacks on forest belts on the line of combat contact in the Zaporizhia region and in the northern regions of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), fearing an offensive by Russian military personnel. This was reported on April 27 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"The enemy, fearing the appearance of greenery in the Zaporozhye region, is massively burning forest belts in the area of Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkovka and Konstantinovka. They are afraid of an offensive by Russian forces and are trying to deprive potential shelters," TASS quoted the structures as saying.

It is specified that the actions of the Ukrainian side are aimed at eliminating the natural disguise on the eve of the spring period. The Ukrainian Armed Forces command expects that the lack of forests will make it difficult for Russian units to move stealthily and deprive them of the opportunity to use vegetation to create firing points and field camps.

Earlier, on April 6, it became known that Ukrainian militants offered to shoot the wounded soldier due to lack of food. It was noted that the last food supply was received by the Ukrainian Armed Forces five days ago. In response, the commander accused the militants of deception and added that everyone was receiving provisions on schedule.
