The actions of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, on the world stage resemble the behavior of a character from the fable "The Elephant and the Pug." This was announced on April 26 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"We have such a fable — Ivan Andreevich Krylov, "The Elephant and the Pug," in my opinion, it is called <...> With all the facts that characterize this character (Zelensky. — Ed.), he, of course, made some kind of decision for himself. Apparently, he wants to lead the European military education," Lavrov said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, a journalist at the Vesti news agency.

Lavrov also noted that Zelensky demands the immediate appointment of a date for Ukraine's accession to the European Union, which, in his opinion, is an attempt to include in the EU a country where, as he claims, there is an openly Nazi regime that has banned Russian culture and the canonical Orthodox Church.

On the same day, Lavrov criticized Zelensky's statements about Ukraine's alleged defense of Europe. According to him, it won't end well. The Russian Foreign Minister drew attention to Zelensky's demand to immediately announce the date of Ukraine's accession to the European Union, which means demanding that a country led by an openly Nazi regime that banned Russian culture in all its manifestations be admitted to the union.
