- Koshkovich spoke about the consequences for the EU after the anti-Russian sanctions affecting China
The European Union's sanctions against Russia, which have also affected a number of Chinese companies, may eventually turn against the EU itself. This was announced on April 26 by Zoltan Koshkovich, an analyst at the Hungarian Center for Fundamental Rights.
Koshkovich commented on a Politico publication about Beijing's reaction to the new package of EU sanctions against Russia.
"We are ruled by fanatics, and this will lead to real consequences," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
The day before, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China promised to protect Chinese companies that have fallen under EU sanctions. As part of another package of restrictions, the European regulator has blacklisted six organizations from China.
On April 23, the EU finally approved the 20th package of sanctions against Russia. As part of it, the Council of the European Union (EU) was given the opportunity to impose a complete ban on the maritime transportation of Russian oil and petroleum products. In addition, transactions with 20 Russian banks were banned. The restrictions also affected rapper Timati (Timur Yunusov), Director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).
