IRGC detained two vessels while trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz
The naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have detained two ships linked to Israel that were trying to secretly cross the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by the IRNA news agency on April 26.
"The naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, using intelligent monitoring systems of the Strait of Hormuz, identified and stopped two violating vessels named MSC‑FRANCESCA associated with the Zionist regime, as well as the ship EPAMINODES," the agency wrote in its Telegram channel.
The publication noted that the second vessel tried to leave the strait without permission and with repeated maritime violations, while interfering with navigation equipment. It clarifies that the violations were suppressed with the help of intelligence from the IRGC operational forces in order to protect the Iranian people.
On April 23, US President Donald Trump announced that until an agreement with Iran is concluded, not a single vessel in the Strait of Hormuz will enter or leave without the approval of the US Navy. According to the American leader, the United States currently has "full control" over the Strait of Hormuz.
On April 18, the Iranian armed forces announced the restoration of military control over the Strait of Hormuz due to the blockade by the United States. Later, Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz from the evening of April 18 until the complete lifting of the US naval blockade.
