Fans in the stands were banned from propaganda against traditional values
Russia has updated the rules of conduct for spectators at official sports competitions and the list of items prohibited from entering stadiums. This was announced on April 26 in a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation.
"The means of support must meet the following requirements: <...> the absence of inscriptions and (or) images that do not correspond to traditional values stipulated by Presidential Decree No. 809 of November 9, 2022," the document says, which was reviewed by TASS.
In addition, spectators are prohibited from bringing personal mobility equipment and unmanned aerial vehicles to stadiums, unless this is agreed with the organizers of the event.
It is also clarified that the use of sound attributes — horns, pipes and vuvuzelas — is allowed only with prior permission from the organizers or authorized persons. At the same time, such items should be placed in such a way that they do not cause inconvenience to other viewers.
According to the agency, the new requirements are aimed at regulating the behavior of fans and ensuring order during competitions.
Dmitry Svishchev, first deputy chairman of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, said on March 28 that representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation blocked the adoption of a bill on the potential return of beer to stadiums — they believe the initiative carries risks of "alcoholization of society."
