A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Ukrainian militant formations were defeated in a number of settlements in the Kharkiv region and the DPR. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 210 soldiers, two MaxxPro and HMMWV armored fighting vehicles made in the USA, 20 vehicles, three artillery pieces and four electronic warfare stations. Two ammunition depots were destroyed.

The southern group of troops occupied more advantageous positions and lines, and also hit enemy manpower and equipment in the areas of the DPR settlements. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 175 militants, a Cossack armored fighting vehicle, 12 vehicles and five field artillery pieces. Five ammunition depots and two material depots were destroyed.

Units of the Center group of forces improved their tactical position and hit Ukrainian formations in the areas of settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region and the DPR. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to 295 people, an armored personnel carrier, seven vehicles, two artillery pieces and two electronic warfare stations.

The Vostok group of troops continued to move into the depth of the enemy's defenses. The manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions were affected. The enemy lost up to 290 soldiers, an armored personnel carrier, six armored fighting vehicles, four pickup trucks and two artillery pieces.

Units of the Dnepr group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of three mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in areas of populated areas of the Zaporizhia region. Up to 50 militants, two armored combat vehicles, 19 vehicles, a field artillery piece and three electronic warfare stations were destroyed.

Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated the storage and launch sites of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, objects of the transport and energy infrastructure of Ukraine used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 140 areas.

Air defense systems shot down seven guided aerial bombs, two US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 530 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.

Maneuverability, control of logistics routes and the use of natural factors will be key elements of the summer campaign.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 13,8052 unmanned aerial vehicles, 656 anti-aircraft missile systems, 29,051 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,709 multiple rocket launchers, 34,618 field artillery guns and mortars, and 60,208 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
