American political scientist Mark Lowe said that the shooting at a dinner with the participation of US President Donald Trump may be a production organized to raise his rating. He told Izvestia about this on April 26, commenting on the incident at the Washington Hilton hotel.

"Everything looks too staged <...> How did he even get through the outer security ring? <...> Immediately after the incident, Trump is already posting his photos," Lowe said.

According to him, the assassination attempt could have been an internal operation, possibly involving the CIA and colluding with Trump to gain political dividends. A real assassination attempt always gives a surge of sympathy and votes, and Trump needs it because the war with Iran is going badly and unpopular.

In addition, after the murder of Charlie Kirk, the MAGA base split, and the incident was supposed to rally Republicans. Lowe also noted that the American government is not working as fast as it did this time: information that the attacker donated to Kamala Harris appeared instantly.

Another American political analyst, former New York Times journalist John Varoli, said that the shooting is likely to improve Trump's rating.

"I believe that this event will improve Trump's rating. Of course, when a person is attacked or shot at, people begin to feel sorry for the president," he said.

Varoli noted that such an event would stop the decline in the rating and, perhaps, allow the American leader to gain additional points and regain popularity, because people would sincerely sympathize with him.

Trump and his wife Melania were evacuated from the White House Correspondents' Association dinner on April 25 after the sounds of gunfire. Later, the American leader announced that the shooter had been detained.

According to the New York Post, the shooter turned out to be a 31-year-old man from California, Cole Thomas Allen. The federal prosecutor in Washington, Jeanine Pirro, said that the detainee after the shooting will appear in court on Monday, April 27.

Trump said that the shooter had several weapons with him. In addition, the US president noted that the attacker probably acted alone.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt made the stunning remark shortly before the shooting at a White House Correspondents' Association dinner attended by US President Donald Trump. Right before the emergency, she promised reporters that "shots would be fired" at the event.
