An unknown person opened fire at the Washington Hilton hotel on Saturday, April 25, during a reception for the White House Correspondents' Association attended by US President Donald Trump. According to CNN journalist Caitlin Collins, the attacker was killed.
"The Minister of Education is next to me, her security confirmed that there was a shooter in the lobby of the Washington Hilton Hotel. He's been killed," she said.
