The death toll from the terrorist attack on the Pan-American Highway in the Cauca department in southwestern Colombia has risen to 14 people, with more than 38 injured. This was announced on April 25 by the governor of the region Octavio Guzman.

"To date, we report 14 dead and more than 38 injured, including five minors," he wrote on the social network X.

According to Guzman, the department's road infrastructure was damaged during the attack.

Guzman said earlier in the day that at least seven people were killed and more than 20 injured in the terrorist attack in Colombia. In addition, acts of violence were recorded in several other municipalities of the department, including El Tambo, Caloto, Popayan, Guachene, Mercaderes and Miranda. Due to the aggravation of the situation, the regional authorities have convened an emergency security council, the governor added.
