Media reported on anti-government rallies in Israeli cities
Protests have taken place in several Israeli cities against the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This was reported by the newspaper Haaretz on April 25.
"Thousands of people are protesting against the Netanyahu government in Tel Aviv," the publication says.
It is noted that the demonstrators began their march from the Hungarian embassy: initially, they celebrated the election defeat of the party of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, after which they moved to Habima Square in the center of Tel Aviv.
According to Haaretz, the participants of the rally in northern Israel took to the streets with Hungarian flags and slogans, one of them — "Hungary, soon we will too." In addition, rallies were held in Jerusalem, Beersheba and Haifa, where about 1,000 demonstrators gathered.
The NYT newspaper reported on April 25 that the US authorities may refuse to issue a green card to people who criticized Israel or supported Palestine at rallies. It is clarified that the relevant training materials were distributed last month to employees of the US Immigration Service (CIS), which is part of the Department of Homeland Security. The Agency reviews applications for green cards and other types of legal status.
