Russia uses the summoning of its Ambassador to Romania, Vladimir Lipavsky, to the local Foreign Ministry to express its position on foreign policy issues. This was announced on April 25 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"We always use any ambassador's call, especially in a country with an unfriendly regime, in order to once again, in a reasoned manner, with facts in hand, to outline Russian approaches to fundamental foreign policy issues. It will be the same this time," RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.

The diplomat stressed that regular calls of Russian ambassadors to unfriendly countries will become a constant tool for voicing Moscow's point of view.

On April 25, the Romanian Foreign Ministry summoned Lipaev after the crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the Galac region last night. The ministry said that Russia had allegedly violated Romanian airspace.
