US President Donald Trump has cancelled the trip of Special Envoy Steven Witkoff and businessman Jared Kushner to Pakistan to meet with representatives of Iran. This was reported on April 25 by the Fox News channel.

"Trump told Fox News correspondent Aisha Hasni at the White House that American negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would not travel to Pakistan for talks with Iran," the material says.

The head of the White House explained that the American delegation should not make an 18-hour flight to Pakistan when, in his opinion, the United States "holds all the trumps" in the conflict with Iran. Trump added that the Iranian side can call the United States at "any time convenient for them."

The American president clarified that the cancellation of the trip of the United States delegation does not mean a resumption of attacks on the territory of the Islamic Republic.

Tehran considered the extension of the ceasefire regime to be another ploy by the United States to prepare for a strike.

The official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Republic, Reza Talainik, said on the same day that the United States was looking for a way to adequately end the current confrontation with Iran. He noted that Washington's goal of crushing Iran's military might had completely failed.
