The CEO of Eksmo and several employees were ordered to report to the investigator.
The Investigative Committee of Russia has ordered the general director of Eksmo publishing house, Evgeny Kapiev, and several employees of the publishing house to report to the investigator on Monday, April 27. This was reported to Izvestia on April 25 by the press service of the publishing house.
It is noted that Kapyev and other employees are in the status of witnesses.
Earlier, on April 23, the Investigative Committee released under an obligation to appear after questioning the top managers of the Eksmo publishing house, who were detained in the case of LGBT propaganda (the movement is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
Kapiev was arrested on April 21 in connection with LGBT propaganda. In Moscow, law enforcement officers searched the management of the Eksmo-AST publishing group. A criminal case has been opened under Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of the activities of an extremist organization").
Izvestia found out that the holding's management had developed a scheme to distribute books promoting LGBT among minors. We are talking about the novels "Summer in a Pioneer tie" and "What the Swallow is silent about" by Elena Prokasheva (pseudonym — Elena Malisova, recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent) and Ekaterina Dudko (pseudonym — Katerina Silvanova, recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent). There are other works involved in the case.
