Araqchi conveyed to the Pakistani side Tehran's position on US demands
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi conveyed to the Pakistani side, which mediates in the negotiations between Tehran and Washington, the position and remarks of the Islamic Republic regarding the demands of the United States. This was reported on April 25 by Al Jazeera TV channel.
According to the channel, during a meeting with the commander of the Pakistani army, Field Marshal Asim Munir Araqchi, "outlined Iran's position and [Tehran's] reservations regarding US demands."
It is noted that during the meeting, issues of ceasefire conditions were discussed, as well as cooperation between the two countries in order to strengthen peace in the region.
Araqchi praised the mediation efforts of the Pakistani government.
The official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Bagai, said on the same day that Iran does not plan to hold a meeting with the US delegation during the visit of Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to Pakistan.
White House Press Secretary Carolyn Leavitt announced progress in negotiations with Iran on April 24. According to her, US President Donald Trump decided to send Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner to listen to the Iranian side. She noted that all members of the American leader's team will fly to Pakistan if it is necessary to develop negotiations with the Iranian side.
