Sobyanin spoke about measures to support families with children in Moscow
Starting in 2026, the amount of benefits and social benefits for families with children in Moscow has been indexed by 6%. This was recalled by the Mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, noting that support for families with children is the most important area of Moscow's social policy.
"There are 22 institutions operating in Moscow to support families with children," he wrote on his channel in the MAX. "These are 14 family centers, a Crisis Center for women and children, two social rehabilitation centers and five centers for qualified assistance to children with special needs."
The mayor also recalled that families with newborns continue to receive the "Our Treasure" set, which consists of 50 items necessary in the first months of a baby's life. Parents can cancel the recruitment and receive a payment of 20 thousand rubles instead.
In addition, according to Sobyanin, the number of large families is increasing in Moscow — over the past 15 years there have been almost four times as many. Today, over 630,000 children are raised in such families. Measures to support large families include "monthly payments, compensation for housing and telephone payments, benefits for utilities, contributions for capital repairs, and much more," the mayor added.
Families who find themselves in a difficult life situation can seek comprehensive support, in particular, individual or family psychological counseling, as well as legal assistance.
There is also a mediation service in Moscow. "Over the past two years, 70% of families have been able to reach agreements on controversial issues with the help of a mediator. We were the first in Russia to introduce a mediation mechanism into the city's social support system," Sobyanin said, noting that it was decided to extend Moscow's experience to other regions.
