- The Interior Ministry advised to avoid links outside the national domain zone of the Russian Federation
Online users are not recommended to click on links outside the national domain zone of the Russian Federation, as well as those with signs of masking the real address, so as not to infect mobile devices with malicious software. This was announced on April 25 by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
"In order to prevent the establishment of IPOs on mobile devices, users are advised not to click on links of questionable origin, including those with signs of masking the real address (using link shortening services)," the agency's statement cites TASS.
The Interior Ministry also recommended not to open links hosted on domain names outside the .ru zone, in particular in public areas (.site, .xyz, .click, .top, .link and similar), including those imitating the official web version of the messenger. When they are opened, there is a risk of unauthorized access by intruders to the account.
On April 21, experts from the Moscow cybersecurity project "Call me Back" listed the main schemes that hackers use to steal personal data of citizens. It was noted that by the end of 2025, cybercrimes accounted for almost half of all crimes registered in the capital.
