The expert gave advice to parents who lost their child in the crowd
If a child is lost in a crowd, parents first need to call the emergency services, and then start searching on their own. Natalia Abramova, an instructor in the prevention of missing persons of the LizaAlert search and rescue team, told about this on April 25.
"If a parent has lost a child in a crowd, then first of all you need to call 112. After that, he (the Parent. — Ed.) can also call the hotline of the LizaAlert detachment, and then take some independent actions," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Abramova clarified that parents should explain to their children in advance that if they get lost, it is important to stay in place and not try to find their own way.
According to the expert, after contacting the emergency services, parents should choose one of two options. If the adult was alone with the child, it is recommended that he return along the route and check the places that could attract the child's attention. If the escort was carried out by two parents and they are not far from home, one of them should return, because the children, realizing that they are lost, can go home.
The missing persons prevention instructor emphasized the need for the minor to have a mobile phone and a note with the parents' contact details. She added that the child should memorize the numbers of the guardians.
In addition, Abramova noted that before attending mass events, parents should arrange a meeting place with their child in advance in case they disperse. She also advised that before attending such events, take a picture of a minor, because in a stressful situation, adults may not remember what he was wearing.
Elena Malakhova, production director of the Russian children's clothing brand SherySheff, told Izvestia on March 16 that parents often make the same mistakes when choosing clothes for kindergarten, which can make children uncomfortable in the first hours of their stay in the group. One of the mistakes is excessive insulation "just in case." Parents try to protect their child from the cold, but overheating occurs much more often than hypothermia.
