Utah defeated Vegas in the NHL playoffs

The Utah Hockey Club defeated the Vegas Golden Knights in the second match of the first round of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs. The match took place on April 24 and ended with a score of 3:2.

Mackenzie Wigar (17th minute), Dylan Gunter (35th) and Logan Cooley (55th) scored goals for the winners. Mark Stone (12th) and Russian striker Ivan Barbashev (36th) scored goals for Vegas. His compatriot forward Pavel Dorofeev, as well as Utah defender Mikhail Sergachev, could not be noted for their effective actions in this game.

Following the results of two meetings, the score in the series of up to four wins became equal — 1:1. The next confrontation of the teams is scheduled for the night of Friday, April 25, Moscow time at the home arena of Utah.

For the Salt Lake City club, the current playoff appearance was the first in its history. The team made its NHL debut in the 2024/25 season. According to the results of the regular season, Vegas took the first place in the Pacific Division, while Utah took the fourth place in the Central Division.

On April 23, the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Los Angeles Kings on the road in the third match of the first round of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs. The match ended with a score of 4:2.
