- The media reported on Starmer's intention to declare the IRGC a terrorist organization
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will submit a bill on the recognition of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization to the British Parliament for consideration. This was reported on April 24 by The Jewish Chronicle (JC) newspaper.
"The draft law banning the IRGC will be submitted for consideration and presented at the next session of parliament, which will begin in a few weeks," the publication says.
It is noted that the British prime minister made such a statement during a visit to the Kenton United synagogue with Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis on April 23 to inspect the damage after the arson attempt that occurred on April 19.
On April 20, Reuters reported that London police had arrested two suspects in an attempted arson attack on the Kenton United synagogue. It was clarified that investigators are investigating possible links between these actions and the Middle East conflict.
Later, on April 21, Reuters, citing law enforcement agencies, reported that one of the suspects in the arson attack on a synagogue in north London had been charged. He turned out to be a 17-year-old teenager, and his 19-year-old accomplice was released on bail pending the completion of the investigation.
