Account transactions are suspended to collect tax arrears if taxes are not paid on time. This was announced on April 24 by the Federal Tax Service (FTS).

"The Federal Tax Service of Russia does not block accounts, but suspends operations on bank accounts only for the amount of the existing debt, that is, in the amount of the negative balance of the taxpayer's single tax account. <...>. It is important to note that the procedure for debt collection from individual taxpayers' accounts in the bank is initiated in case of non—payment of taxes on time," — cites a message from RIA Novosti.

At the same time, the amount of money exceeding the amount owed remains available to the payer. At the same time, before suspending funds, as the department recalled, a request for repayment of debts is sent to the taxpayer, which specifies the deadline for paying taxes.

On April 17, the Federal Tax Service announced that those individuals who are highly likely to receive undeclared income will be subject to enhanced tax control on transfers. The agency clarified that transfers between close relatives will not be subject to control if they are not related to business activities.
