The White House has reported progress in negotiations with Iran in recent days.
The United States has noted some progress in negotiations with Iran in recent days. This was announced on April 24 by White House press Secretary Carolyn Leavitt.
"Over the past couple of days, we have certainly seen some progress on the Iranian side. Again, the president decided to send Steven [Witkoff] and Jared [Kushner] to listen to the Iranians. The Vice President [J.D. Vance] remains deeply involved in this whole process (of settling with Iran. — Ed.) and will be here in the United States with the president," Leavitt said on Fox News.
At the same time, Leavitt noted that all members of the national security team of US President Donald Trump will be ready to fly to Pakistan if necessary to develop negotiations with Iran.
The Axios portal reported yesterday that Iran is allegedly delaying negotiations with the United States due to pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which insists on a tougher stance. The Israeli N12 TV channel, in turn, noted that a member of the Iranian delegation and Speaker of Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, allegedly resigned from the Iranian negotiating team after the IRGC intervened.
Mohammad Marandi, a professor at the University of Tehran, said on April 20 that the Iranian side does not intend to negotiate with US Vice President Jay Dee Vance because of the "absurd" demands of the American side.
