The Oktyabrsky District Court of Murmansk sentenced the technical director of Sever Stroy LLC in the case of embezzlement of 2 million rubles during the reconstruction of the road to Teriberka. This is reported by the press service of the court and the regional prosecutor's office.

It was established that the defendant falsified reports on drilling and blasting operations in the segment from the 10th to the 20th km of the motorway to the village of Teriberka. He entered works in the documents that were not actually completed, Bi-port news agency clarifies.

"Out of self—interest, in order to extract benefits for unidentified persons from among the actual managers of Severstroy LLC, [the defendant] stole funds in excess of 2 million rubles," the court's press service said.

On April 22, the court found the company's technical director guilty under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud, that is, theft of other people's property by deception on an especially large scale") and sentenced him to three years in prison to be served in a general regime colony.

The defendant himself pleaded not guilty, saying that he had not violated the law. The man was taken into custody in the courtroom. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.

A week ago, on April 17, it was reported that the investigation into one of the most high-profile cases in the construction industry of the Sverdlovsk region had been completed. We are talking about the theft of 634 million rubles during the construction of roads in one of the residential districts of Yekaterinburg.
