US President Donald Trump has sent his special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to Pakistan to participate in talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. This was reported on April 24 by CNN News with reference to two representatives of the American administration.

According to sources, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance will not attend the talks, as Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is also not participating. The White House considers Ghalibaf as the head of the Iranian delegation and the main negotiator.

Nevertheless, officials note that if negotiations progress, the vice president is ready to travel to Islamabad.

His representatives are already in Pakistan and will attend the meetings. Kushner and Witkoff have been consulting with Iranian officials for several months on a possible agreement on Tehran's nuclear material.

Iran's Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali. On April 23, he pointed out that the US approach to negotiations was not serious. He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to a diplomatic solution to the conflict, but does not see the same attitude from Washington.
