Larisa Tuganova, the former Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of North Ossetia—Alania, and her son are suspected of receiving large-scale bribes totaling more than 2 million rubles. This was reported on April 24 in the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

"Criminal cases have been initiated against the former deputy chairman of the regional government and her son. Depending on the role of each, they are suspected of committing crimes under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Taking a particularly large bribe") and Part 4 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Mediation in bribery committed on a particularly large scale")," the agency said in a message on the MAX messenger.

The combined criminal cases were initiated based on materials provided by the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation.

So, according to investigators, the person involved, hiding outside the country, for three years — in the period from 2022 to 2025 — received bribes from entrepreneurs, to whom she later provided patronage in matters of purchasing goods from them for the needs of institutions. In this process, her son acted as an intermediary between Tuganova and representatives of the industry. The former deputy head of the government of the republic received a total of over 2 million rubles.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation recalled that a criminal case had already been opened against Tuganova in accordance with paragraph "e" of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code ("Abuse of official authority").

On the same day, the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Prosecutor's office announced that a lawsuit had been sent to court with a request to recover 328 million rubles from Ilya Shtokman, the former first deputy head of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration. It was noted that he is accused of corruption, which he also engaged in between 2022 and 2025, when he was in office. As it turned out during the investigations, his relatives also took part in the schemes of the defendant, who used the incoming money to buy 10 real estate objects with a total value of over 60 million rubles.
