As a result of the intensive use of ammunition during operations in Iran, there were concerns among representatives of the American administration that the United States might not be able to implement its plans to protect Taiwan. This was reported on April 23 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

According to the publication, since the beginning of hostilities on February 28, the United States has launched more than 1,000 Tomahawk cruise missiles, as well as from 1.5 thousand to 2 thousand air defense missiles, including THAAD, Patriot and Standard complexes.

According to sources, the full recovery of these reserves may take up to six years.

Earlier in the day, The New York Times (NYT) pointed out the need for difficult choices for the United States due to a shortage of weapons. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense note that in the first two days of the conflict in the Middle East alone, the military spent $5.6 billion worth of ammunition.
