Ex-Deputy Defense Minister Ivanov pleaded not guilty in the second case
Former Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov has pleaded not guilty in the second criminal case. This was reported to Izvestia on April 24 by a participant in the trial.
The case is being considered behind closed doors — thus, the court granted the prosecutor's request, who noted that an open trial could lead to the disclosure of state secrets. The defense requested an open hearing.
In addition to Ivanov, Alexander Fomin, the co-founder of the Olimpcitystroy company, is on trial, accused of paying a particularly large bribe. The third person involved in the case, businessman Sergei Borodin, pleaded guilty and entered into a pre—trial agreement, his case was separated into a separate proceeding.
