A court in the Perm Region sentenced a 36-year-old resident of the village of Severny Kommunar to 22 years in prison for the murder of two people and causing moderate harm to health. This was reported on April 24 on the website of the Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the region.

"In January 2025, the accused was at the home of relatives of his former roommate in the village of Severny Kommunar and drank alcohol with her father. A conflict arose between them, during which he took an axe and struck the victim's leg with the butt," the report says.

Later, the defendant again consumed alcohol in the same house with the victim. During another quarrel, the man struck the victim multiple times with a knife and a hammer on the head and body. The victim died on the spot from his injuries.

To hide the traces of the crime, the attacker killed the mother of the owner of the house, who witnessed the incident. He hid the bodies of the dead in a chest, after which he disappeared. Later, the criminal investigation department detained the suspect in the center of Perm.

The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 22 years in prison. The convict will spend the first five years in prison, the rest of the term in a high—security penal colony. The verdict has not entered into legal force.

The day before, a source from Izvestia reported that a man had started shooting in the Volgograd region, killing one person and injuring two others. According to the source, the jealous man injured his wife and, according to preliminary data, killed her lover. It is noted that another person was also injured.
