Patrushev noted the role of the Smolensk region in the production of grain crops
On April 24, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, during a working trip to the Smolensk Region, discussed with the head of the region, Vasily Anokhin, the development of the agro-industrial complex, rural areas and the implementation of projects in the field of nature management and environmental protection in the region.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister got acquainted with the reconstruction of the production site of the former flour mill, and also assessed the production capacity of the largest flax producer in Russia.
The Smolensk Region is one of the important economic centers of the non—chernozem zone of Russia. The manufacturing industry and the electric power industry are developing here, and tourist flows are growing. The agro-industrial complex is of great importance for the region's economy.
"You are an important producer of certain types of grain crops, for example, rye. And historically, the Smolensk region is a leader in the volume of flax. It is no coincidence that we are meeting at one of the leading processing plants. Spring field work is expected to start in the region in the near future. I wish farmers a successful season. And I ask you to give appropriate instructions to monitor the availability of material and technical resources. This is extremely important at the present time. In general, the government allocated more than 1.5 billion rubles to support agriculture and rural development in your region in 2026, which is significantly higher than in 2025. I kindly ask you to monitor the rhythmic transfer of funds to the final recipients," Patrushev said.
Patrushev announced on April 17 that the Volgograd Region is one of the key agricultural regions of Russia. The sowing campaign in Russia is gaining momentum — field work is already underway in half of the country's regions. The figures speak for themselves: top dressing affected over 12 million hectares of winter crops, spring sowing was carried out on an area of 2.7 million hectares. Special attention is paid to the support of farmers.
