The Moscow Railway is waiting for a large-scale repair of the contact network

A large-scale repair of the contact network will be carried out on the Moscow Railway in 2026. The work will take place on sections with a total length of 107 km in several regions, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Moscow Region reports with reference to the Ministry of Railways.

In Moscow, 15 km of the contact network will be replaced, in the Moscow region — 55 km. A significant amount of work is planned outside the region: 17 km will be renovated in the Ryazan Region, 8 km in the Kaluga Region, 6 km each in the Bryansk and Tula regions.

The railway workers will also carry out scheduled repairs of more than 6.5 thousand air arrows and 20 thousand compensating devices. 123 poles of the contact network will also be replaced as part of the infrastructure upgrade.

According to the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya, the work is aimed at improving the reliability of power supply in areas with heavy train traffic and reducing the risk of technological failures.
