The PSB talked about the support of the Bank for regional development
Its presence in the country's regions and understanding of regional specifics allows the PSB to provide effective support in the field of socio-economic development, said Vera Podguzova, Senior Vice President and Director of External Relations at the PSB, speaking at the plenary session "Regional Development as a key factor in the economic Growth of the Russian Federation" at the VIII Just Capital Forum.
"The PSB is present in every region of our country, and therefore we understand how people live in a particular region, what tasks are facing and what issues need to be addressed. The theme of economic development and growth of the country as a whole lies precisely in the regions. All of them are differentiated — somewhere it is an industrial hub, somewhere it is a tourist center. There is one thing that unites everyone — common strategic goals, such as increasing investments in fixed assets, developing human potential, and increasing household incomes. In order to achieve them, synergy is needed between regional authorities, business and the financial sector, and the PSB provides comprehensive support in this direction," Podguzova said.
Podguzova mentioned the program for the construction of preferential housing for defense industry employees, which the PSB implements in partnership with regional authorities and enterprises in the sector. The program makes it possible to provide employees of defense enterprises with housing at below-market prices, which is an effective mechanism for retaining personnel in the regions. In addition, the PSB has been working in the reunified regions of Russia for several years, supporting businesses and helping to restore infrastructure.
Another example of PSB's work with the regions was the large-scale relocation of the bank's employees to Yaroslavl, which, according to Podguzova, will help accelerate the growth of the region's economy. "We face a big task of socio-economic support, infrastructure development, including tourism, culture, and sports, which will create new jobs in the Yaroslavl region, ensure development, and a new round of activities for young people," Podguzova explained.
