ROSSETI and Rosatom have identified areas of cooperation

For the first time, the strategic session of the ROSSETI Group and the ROSATOM State Corporation was held at the Atom Museum at VDNH. The heads of the companies, Andrey Ryumin and Alexey Likhachev, took part in it, according to ROSSETI.

"The global trend of modern times is a multiple increase in electricity consumption. The growth is associated with the construction of new high-tech enterprises and data processing centers, and the development of artificial intelligence systems. This means not only challenges, but also opportunities for the energy sector. ROSSETI and ROSATOM have unique, complementary competencies. The strategic tasks assigned to us by the country's leadership require the development of joint approaches to their solution. Combining our competencies and developing partnerships will be aimed at implementing new large-scale projects in Russia and abroad. I am sure that today's session will help identify specific projects where synergy will maximize the effect," Ryumin said.

According to Likhachev, Rosatom and ROSSETI have a long-term partnership in the energy sector. "We are actively cooperating on the provision of power distribution schemes for our nuclear power plants. According to the general scheme for the placement of electric power facilities until 2042, 38 nuclear power units are to be built in Russia. And here, cooperation with the ROSSETI group will only expand. In recent years, we have started working together in new areas, including wind power and energy storage systems. Strengthening cooperation will help not only to solve the tasks set by the state, but also to introduce advanced technologies, determining the future of the Russian electric power industry," he stressed.

The five working groups included representatives of the ROSSETI Group and the ROSATOM State Corporation — scientific and engineering centers, manufacturers, research and testing organizations. They discussed cooperation in a number of areas. Rosseti added that the result of the strategic session will be a roadmap on promising areas of cooperation.
